Event Recap: Iris Schreier

We had a great time with Iris Schreier on Friday! She went over some really interesting techniques like double knitting and demonstrated her variation of the moebius cast on. She showed samples of projects from Reversible Knits and Lacy Little Knits as well as amazing yarns from her company, Art Yarns.

Attendees saw brand new colors of Art Yarns that were amazingly gorgeous and received samples of Ultra Merino 4 and Cotton Spring.

Also on hand were some great yum yums from Anita Sharp - Vegan Chef & Caterer

And if you were curious about the portrait that Iris is holding up in that first photo, you want to check out Katherine Leu. Katherine painted the portrait for Iris as a thank you from Gotham Fine Yarn for coming to share all her wonderful techniques with us.

Katherine also painted the steps in front of the store!

Stop by the store to caress some of Iris' Art Yarns for yourself! My personal favorite is the Silk Rhapsody Glitter!

Meet Iris Schreier this Friday at Gotham Fine Yarn!

Iris is the creator of Artyarns, the author of Reversible Knits and will be presenting some techniques from Reversible Knits on Friday!

Curious about double knitting, reversible cables or the moebius cast on? Or maybe you're a beginning knitter who just wants to see what's possible with some yarn and needles.  Iris will showcase some of these techniques and sign copies of her book.

Knitters of all levels are welcome to attend and there will be giveaways of mini-skieins of various Artyarns yarns as well as a chance to win a copy of Reversible Knits!

Books will be available for purchase for $22.95.

See you there!

Yarn Graffiti

We painted the steps outside the store this week ... it's a reverse mural ... one view from the sidewalk and the other from inside the store and out. One big sheep from the sidewalk and multiple sheep on rolling hills from the inside out ... Katherine Leu a local artist and customer did an awesome job!
